Reporting Line:    Managing DirectorCORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB (Job Summary)The Upstream officer drives new business opportunities by developing and leveraging both new and existing relationships. The position is responsible for driving services, marketing initiatives, generating income for: PETROGAP, ensuring customer satisfaction and providing value.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/OUTPUT ON THE POSITIONCORE RESPONSIBILITIESStrategy:Develop detailed market analysis for growing market space and develop strategies to penetrate a defined target market. (business plan)Prepare the budget and revenue target for departmentEnsures implementation of budget for department and driving services and marketing initiatives to achieve targetBusiness Development and Client Relationship ManagementIdentify, develop and manage new client relationships with the IOC.Work with both external and internal procurement and logistics team in coordinating prompt and competitive service delivery Identify and pre-qualify business opportunities and make recommendations to the organization assuring PETROGAP’s participation in the bidding stage.Work in synergy with the Finance department in the preparation and submission of bidsIdentify and develop relationships with key decision-makers in the IOC’s to uncover new business opportunitiesActively participate in the bid and proposal submission process covering the commercial, financial and tax aspect of the bid. Conduct a comprehensive follow-up of the proposals until awarded.Generate income for the organization and work with the agreed target/budget for the unit.Ability to research on OEMs’ and negotiate the best deals that will keep the organization competitive and profitable.LeadershipDisplay clear leadership qualities at all times and work without boundaries throughout the organizationAbility to coach & direct subordinates to improve their productivity and ensure knowledge transfer towards subordinates.Carryout performance evaluation on subordinates and document feedback.Improve and maintain knowledge in relevant field.
