Vacancy for Technical Procurement Manager at A Foremost Transport & Logistics Company

JOB TITLE: Technical Procurement ManagerDEPARTMENT: OperationsREPORTS DIRECTLY TO: MD    JOB SUMMARYFormulate and drive a consistent approach towards all sourcing, procurement and tendering activity within the business, ultimately ensuring the value for money is maximized and cost savings are generated.Plan and execute annual procurement target within the budget by responding to all in-coming enquiries from various departments and companies, identifying potential suppliers and develop purchasing strategy for the company and coordinating all details relating to spare parts procurement including tyres.SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONSMaintain detailed records as required for procurement coordination by forecasting levels of demand for spare parts and other products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels to prevent stock-out.Ensure at least 80% of the stock is imported. Negotiate sales terms with manufacturing representatives and overseas shipping firms at a competitive market price; lead supplier negotiations, recommend supplier and implement contracts designed to encourage continual improvement on price, quality and payment terms.To support the business in its endeavours by monitoring suppliers’ performance in line with KPIs, contractual obligations and service level agreements.Ensure guarantees and warrantees are enforced on all supplied products when applicable.Conducting research to ascertain fast moving consumables and the best suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers; negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress and checking the quality of parts provided.Processing payments and invoices, keeping contract files and using them as reference for the future, forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities; and giving presentations about market analysis and possible growth.Develop, train and supervise staff on the Organisation'sprocurement strategy and savings that may be of benefit to the entire Group.Continuously liaise with clearing agents (sea, air/land) to source for best rates to reduce the cost of transport.Ensure all shipments are insured to eliminate shipment/handling liabilities to the company.And perform any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time.
