Job Title: Head of QualityDepartment: QHSEReports To: Operations ManagerManagement Level: Middle ManagementSupervises: HSE Unit, Quality Control Unit Job Purpose:Ensure that the product produced (from material to consumption) is fit for purpose, consistent and meets both external and internal requirements. Coordinate the activities required to meet quality standards (including legal compliance, standards, internal processes and customer expectations). Monitor and advice on the performance of the quality management system as it relates to product conformity, produce data, reports on performance and measurements against set standards. Contribute to the development of the company’s strategic HSE Plan. Job Duties:Deliver quality laboratory services to the factory (Production and Processing).Ensure that the right analysis (method and sampling plans) are performed on the product, raw materials and packaging materials to guarantee product and process safety and conformity.Ensure the food safety & conformity of all products delivered to the market.Define the sampling plans of all raw materials, intermediate and finished products.Provide methodology, procedures & results to validate the plant processes.Ensure that all results of analyses are properly captured, documented and reported, in the appropriate formats and within required timings. Provide quality & production teams with relevant Q.C data and trends to drive quality.Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of Laboratory equipment to support credibility of results.Participate in both internal and external audit programs.Provide technical support and expertise in quality related problem solving and to risk analysis.Plan & execute required regular personnel & plant hygiene audit.Continuously improve laboratory efficiency.Support continuous improvement of quality metric/KPI.Maintain an active role in continuous improvement of the company’s overall operations.Implement and drive the company's quality control policies, procedures, standards and specifications.Work with the QMS Coordinator to devise and establish an active list of all standards used. Review legal and customer requirements and make sure that products meet those requirements.Work with procurement unit to establish quality requirements for external suppliers.Set up and maintain control points in line with HACCP standards.Monitor quality performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.Contribute to the creation and documentation of inspection criteria and procedures.Implement inspection criteria and procedures.Review the sufficiency and adequacy of HSE risk assessment.Review HSE metrics and advice management accordingly.Champion the creation of HSE policies and programs.Ensure that management is fully aware of its HSE responsibilities.Monitor and improve the performance of the company’s HSE culture.Champion ad-hoc projects to address safety concerns.Lead the implementation of company safety, health, hygiene and 5S programs. Monitor key matrices and performance indicators.Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.Provide input to the recruitment, selection and performance of QHSE staff, as required.Approve departmental requisitions and track budget.Job Responsibility Management of all human resources in the QHSE department. Quality control of all materials and products.Food Safety Program.HSE strategy.Compliance with relevant standards.
