We promote family-friendly flexible working opportunities, where operational and security needs allow.Job Category: Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Operations and Corporate Services)Job Subcategory: EstatesJob Description (Roles and Responsibilities)  Main purpose of job: The post holder will be expected to control the day to day workload of the technical trades and provide comprehensive supervision of the workforce and sub-contractors.Roles and responsibilities / what will   the jobholder be expected to achieve?:Take charge of day to day reactive and pre-planned maintenance.Take charge of all project work at post as   tasked.Oversee all works that are being carried by contractors are within the specifications and timelines agreed. This will include the initial induction before the start of any works.To investigate, evaluate, and take appropriate action in the event of unforeseen events, problems and other daily maintenance issues.Provide comprehensive supervision of all works designated to post this will include ensuring method statements and risk assessments are prepared and in place when appropriate.Planning and scheduling own and team's work to meet required time lines and output through prioritising activities against a daily programme and liaison with appropriate staff.Monitor performance of TWG and report to the Technical Works Supervisors any concerns or issues and training requirements.To contribute to the general development and improvement of service.To assist charge hands with TWG staff supervision, this will include daily briefings and regular tool box talks with all TWG staff.Willing to work overtime and be prepared to take calls out of hours.Ensuring a culture of Safety  & Health and that FCO guidelines are followed at all times.Complete the appraisal cycle as reporting and countersigning officer for line managed staff as delegated by the Head of Corporate Services
