The Federal University of Technology, Akure, came into formal existence in September 1981 as one of the four autonomous full-fledged, Federal Universities of Technology that then existed in the Country. The Motto of the University is, “Technology for Self reliance’ In choosing its motto, the University laid emphasis on its aim to contributing to national development and self-reliance through the advancement of science and technology. We are recruiting to fill the position below:Job Title: RegistrarThe PositionThe Registry is the administrative hub of the University. The Office of the Registrar is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the daytoday administrative work of the University. The Registry thusprovides support services that enable the University achieve its goals in teaching, learning, research and community service.The PersonThe Registrar is a Principal Officer of the University. The candidate for the post shall be visionary, have the ability to provide good leadership and command respect and loyalty of staff of the Registry.The Candidate must also possess personal integrity and demonstrable transparency in private and public life.DutiesThe Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and Secretary to the Council, the Senate, Congregation and Convocation.He/She also serves as a Member/Secretary to Committees of Management and is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for:The administration of all matters in the University;University’s external communications, advertisements, announcements and general correspondences;Harmonization of the work of the School Officers in the various Schools within the context of the University; andDetermination of all personnel matters including the interpretation of all staff entitlements under the staff regulations.He/She must be highly computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications to e-administration as applicable to the running of a complex and modern University system.
