We work together, with our partners, to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below:Job Title: Project Manager-STEERLocation: KadunaReports to: Deputy Chief of Party (with line relationship to Deputy Director of Operations)Staff directly reporting to this post: NoneBudget responsibility: NoneRole PurposeAs a member of the STEER Team, The Project Manager, will be responsible for working closely with the STEER technical team to achieve the strategic objectives of the project – focusing primarily on project-related planning and implementation, timely and accurate reporting to the DCOP, providing technical support to staff and partners.The Project Manager will work as part of the project management team led by the Chief of Party, maintaining relationships with all program staff and fostering linkages and mutual benefit where possible.This position will also lead Save the Children operations in Kaduna, working closely with the Operations department at SCI Country Office. Thus, the individual will also serve as Office Manager in combination with his/her role as STEER Project Manager in Kaduna.Key Areas of AccountabilityLead in the operation of the Kaduna State Save the Children office including resource management (human, material and financial)Provide strategic and technical leadership to the STEER project team as it relates planning, implementation, and monitoring & evaluation of the project.Use appropriate project management tools to plan, review and track progress on project implementation as well as on the utilization of project resources.With support from the MEAL department, support the development and implementation of strong MEAL systems using STEER tools and resources to maximize project impact on project participants.Continuously support the professional development of his/her team by providing clear orientation, feedback and learning opportunities.Maintain up to date documentation related to project approval, monitoring and implementation.Prepare and submit required donor project narrative reports, quarterly performance indicator tracking tables, as well as other reports needed/required by donors, and SCI headquarters Abuja.Prepare short success stories and briefs on innovation/best practices.Support the regular mapping of STEER and other program activities in the state as well as regular updating as needed.Represent Save the Children and STEER Project in coordination and cluster meetings.Ensure that Save the Children and STEER maximize impact on communities through coordination with other actors providing complementary services.Regularly communicate project progress, major issues and security incidents to the immediate supervisor and Security focal point, as appropriate.Ensure proper grant management, review of partner work plans, budgets and liquidations in coordination with the Program/Award and Finance.Coordinate with operations staff for purchasing and inventory control as per SCI/donor requirements.In collaboration with the finance/Award teams, review and analyze budget comparison reports and take necessary steps to ensure proper management and utilization of budgets.Ensure that all equipment and supplies in Field Office are maintained in a safe and secure manner.Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.Skills and Behaviours (our Values in Practice)Collaboration:Builds and maintains effective relationships, with their team, colleagues, members and external partners and supportersValues diversity, sees it as a source of competitive strengthApproachable, good listener, easy to talk toAccountability:Holds self-accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role modelling Save the Children valuesHolds the team and partners accountable to deliver on their responsibilities – giving them the freedom to deliver in the best way they see fit, providing the necessary development to improve performance and applying appropriate consequences when results are not achievedCreativity:Develops and encourages new and innovative solutionsWilling to take disciplined risksAmbition:Sets ambitious and challenging goals for themselves (and their team), takes responsibility for their own personal development and encourages others to do the sameWidely shares their personal vision for Save the Children, engages and motivates othersFuture orientated, thinks strategicallyIntegrity:Honest, encourages openness and transparency; demonstrates highest levels of integrity
