Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a large Power Distribution Company operating in Africa, to recruit for the vacant position below:Job Title: Chief Operating Officer Job Reference: 1226Location: NigeriaFunction: ExecutiveIndustry: Energy, Mining, UtilitiesJob DescriptionTo provide leadership and manage day-to-day operations of the Company's field operations including commercial and operations activities and support the MD/CEO in developing and executing strategies and policies that ensure operational performance, growth, sales performance and profitability.ResponsibilitiesDrive distribution network improvements for maximum customer benefit within the approved budget. Lead process improvements in O&M, Outage Management and Network Expansion.Drive construction projects and other network improvements according to cost/benefit analysis as approved by the MD/CEO.Drive cash collection improvement in the field through better management of billing, metering and customer service initiatives. Work to get about 1 million new meters procured and installed properly.Enforce the company's core values of integrity, customer service and performance.Review, update and manage the company's operating policies and procedures.Improve documented Standard Operating Procedures and enforce compliance with these procedures.Liaise very closely with District Heads to set targets and drive achievement in a collaborative manner.Establish, in close partnership with the CEO, metrics to manage key elements of the company's operational performance required to meet both customer and financial expectations.Work with CEO to maintain a healthy corporate culture that aligns with defined core values Integrity, Performance and Customer Service.Establish and monitor operational performance against goals, ensure Managers provide quality regular reports and provide regular updates/reports to Executive Management.Drive constant improvement in customer service and ensure that customer issues are addressed promptly and professionally.Lead customer relationship management.Train, motivate, direct and coach to ensure quality personnel are retained within the operations functions and participate (in conjunction with HR) in the process of recruiting staff for Operations.
