With over 25 years of experience and a successful track record completing over 1,000 outages annually, Granite provides services ranging from advanced planning and project controls to complete project execution including startup and commissioning.Job Title: Technical Advisor - Mechanical (TDI - Technical Advisor (TA) Mechanical)Requisition Number:17-0266 Role Summary/PurposeGE Power is one of the world's leading suppliers of power generation and energy delivery technologies - providing a broad array of solutions for traditionally fueled plants.The role of the TDI - TA acts as the frontline engineer in front of GE customer and GE execution partners to drive/lead the installation of GE equipment in newly installed power plants.The TDI - TA provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives.The TDI - TA will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.Essential ResponsibilitiesPerform on-site installation of GE equipment (Gas Turbine and/or Steam Turbine) and GE systems (MKVIe, EX2100e, LS2100e, …etc) followed by calibration and commissioning of equipment and associated systems until the equipment is connected to the grid and transferred to commercial operation by the customerProvide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sitesDevelop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering abilityMaintain knowledge of applicable product line warranties, and accomplish effective warranty administration until unit is transferred to customer or field servicesPerform administrative functions; such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basisMaintain knowledge of the report system to the extent required for timely and accurate input of field information necessaryProvide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sitesMaintain strong safety & quality mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety & quality standardsPrepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages.
