Our mission is to provide aid as quickly and as efficiently as possible to endangered populations by meeting their vital needs: drinking water, food and shelter.We are recruiting to fill the position below:Job Title: Logistics AssistantLocation: Ngala, BornoBeginning of contract: 2nd July, 2018.Contract Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)Probation period: 2 monthsGoal / PurposeThe logistics assistant supports the Logistics Manager in implementing and supervising all logistical activities at his/her assigned base.The Logistics Assistant will also lend his/her support the Manger carrying out urgent activities and the filing and archiving logistical documents.He/she temporarily takes on the basic tasks of the Logistics Manager in their absence.List of Main TasksManagement of Supplies:Update price lists and vendor databasesControl Solidarités International purchase proceduresVerify and process quote requests and IOFsCompose and archive purchase foldersImplement purchases, monitoring adherence to validation regulations and proceduresNegotiate prices, deadlines and methods of deliveryEnsure that relationships with suppliers are monitored.Management of Vehicle Fleet:Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance and repair work on mission vehiclesDraw up the vehicle scheduleEnsure that a complete breakdown kit is available on board all vehiclesCheck that vehicle log books are in place and are used correctlyAssist in monitoring and consolidating fuel consumption and miles travelled for all vehiclesPrevent misappropriation of petrol and spare partsMonitor the administrative documents for all vehiclesManagement of Equipment/Telecommunications:Assist in installing and securing materialsAssist in monitoring and maintaining materialsOrganize training sessions in the use of means of communication.Management and Monitoring of IT Equipment:Update antivirus softwareProvide teams with adequate means for data backupEnsure the maintenance and correct use of IT equipmentManagement of Supplies:Supervise the maintenance and securing of warehousesSupport the logistics officer in carrying out stock checks and physical inventoriesHuman Resource Management:Assist in the recruitment process and in evaluating the members of the logistical teamEstablish team schedules in conjunction with the logistics officerEnsure or assist with logistical training.Personal abilities:A good listenerEffective Communicator, confident   Ability to prioritize work and work with minimal supervision   Team Player, initiative, proactive       Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation, persuasive skillsExcellent Planner, analytical
