Global Profilers is a Recruitment & HR Services firm specialized in recruitment in Africa; we are currently looking for a Head of Corporate Affairs for our client who is an FMCG company. SummaryThe Head of Corporate Affairs will be responsible for Supporting, advising and challenging management on integrated Regulations, Communications and Corporate Affairs matters. He/She will develop a cohesive corporate philosophy for the company to attain the highest level of corporate image and positive reputation, deploy and implement workable global best practises administrative policies for the Group and will also manage external company vendors in the overall interest of the Group.Key Accountabilities To manage Sponsorship / Donation activities and ensure delivery of the maximum positive impact on the consuming public.To maintain good press relations and follow-up legal issues and to provide guidance and ensure that the corporate image of the company is protected and adequately projected.To develop and execute in conjunction with commercial management new ways of maximising and enhancing strategy through non-paid for media.To construct and maintain dialogue with public decision makers, government agencies and non-governmental organizations.To advise management on content of Employee communications. Develop and manage message creation and delivery to employees.Managing team and individual performance through regular reviews, monitoring objectives and ensuring development needs are identified and actioned.Peruse all publications about the Company prior to being publishedMaintain cordial relations with media operators (electronic and print)Oversee the maintenance of good public image for the organisationTo select and commission appropriate media agencies for maximum outreachEnsure registration, renewal of the Company’s trademarks and copyrightsProvision of information on the value and type of insurance cover for all company assets in liaison with Insurance department of the companyEnsure best corporate practices are implemented in accordance with relevant lawsRegular meetings with government agencies e.g. Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), and trademarks registryPrepare and review event agendas with the commercial SBUSupervise, direct and coordinate the activities of personnel, subcontractors and vendors as required to successfully execute assigned eventsRenewal of Royalty and Technical Service Agreements with the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP)Determine the most effective/appropriate non-paid for media channel to utiliseFormulate strategy on the use of non-paid mediaPrepare publicity campaign briefs for the selected non-paid media channelMonitor all competitor’s non-paid media effortsFacilitate the commissioning of media placement schedule for radio and press campaigns as wellCreate an effective PR budget for the non-paid media sources in the area of cash/products giftsPrepare publicity campaign briefs for appropriate non-paid for mediaFormulate the vision and mission of the company’s charitable foundationFormulate the operational strategies, guidelines and scope of the company’s charitable FoundationPrepare the schedule for yearly operations of the company’s charitable foundationCoordinate the activities for the formal launch of the company’s charitable foundationPrepare the budget for the company’s charitable foundationCapital projects development budgetingDrive the move to ensure sustainable growth for the company’s charitable foundationOrganises Seminars, Exhibitions, Workshops and PresentationsEnsure periodic new strategy formulation for the company’s charitable foundationOversee the marketability of the company’s charitable foundation to make it relevant and comparable to other blue chip organisation’s foundations in NigeriaProvide leadership and drive for excellence by the company’s charitable foundationOrganises and handles Media briefing and press conferences for the company’s charitable foundationTo periodically run the company’s charitable foundations’ Advert of activitiesMaintain cordial relations with media operatorsPeriodic briefing of the CEO and board of the activities of the company’s charitable foundationDevelop the company’s charitable foundation secretariat to support the expansion of the foundation’s strategy to deliver corporate social responsibility issuesOversight management of office operations, negotiates contracts, manages vendor relationships, acts as primary liaison with Local Government Agencies and other Regulatory bodies, develops and oversees office standard operating procedures.Manages CUG phone system and evaluates information and data reports.Manage Administrative Staff including front of office, security and travel coordination. Coordinates short and long-term organizational administrative planningOversees contracts and vendor management, develops and implements workable solutions with the support of third party consultants.Deploy a sustainable Travel Management system with cost savings optionsOversee management of the facilities – owned and rented and deploy best in practise processes Establish a liaison desk of the company in some key states of Nigeria to respond to matters concerning the company effectivelyLiaise with all relevant Federal Government Ministries and parastatals in the industryAct as a principal government contact and communications liaison with agencies and individuals (e.g. Royal visitors, foreign dignitaries, Heads of mission and Heads of post),  elected officials (e.g. Senators, Commissioners), members of the public and othersRespond promptly to questions or concerns of all matters regarding the companyAdvise the company on all matters of protocol, ceremonial and diplomatic policies, in relation to international practices and expectationsMeets with public to provide information and guidance in order to ensure accuracyPrepare and implement a Departmental Immigration data monitor for Group by SBURegularly and immediate update all immigration quota changesPrepare monthly immigration reports and submissions to regulatory authoritiesMonitor expatriate movement and ensure deletion with the authorityMaintain close relationships with Nigerian embassies abroad and stakeholder countries in Nigeria especially for visas and approvalsAttend Immigration workshops and meetingsDrive the setup of an employee communication channel such as a company intranet/blog and websiteDrive the setup of an employee communication channel such as a periodically published NewsletterBuild and sustain effective employee communication contentFormulate a budget for the NewsletterEmploy strategy to notify employee of the company’s community relations activities and Corporate Social responsibility issues (CSR) to keep them abreast of happeningsPrepares and disseminates all advisory notices, press releases, speeches, reports etc.Ensure each team member has an active development plan, which is reviewed as a minimum, on a periodic basis (bi-annual and monthly informal reviews)Set realistic yet challenging objectives throughout the year for both the team and each individual whilst making sure that the objectives are SMARTComplete as a minimum, periodic reviews of each team member’s performance (bi-annual and monthly informal reviews)Discuss lull in performance in a timely manner using the feedback methodIdentify skills gap and recommend for training (on-the-job)Introduce motivational schemes to drive the team to achieve successEnsure each team member is aware of the part they play in the achievement of business objectivesCoach individual team members to support their development
