We believe in best practices always and therefore employ and retain the best talents.We are recruiting to fill the position below:Job Title: Financial ControllerReference #: HP/FC/08Location: LagosContract Type: PermanentReport to: the Chief Financial OfficerJob Functions: Accounting, Banking, Finance, Management Consulting, RetailIndustriesAccounting, Accounting & Auditing, Banking / Finance & Investment, Bookkeeping, Financial Services, Fmcg (Fast Moving Consumer Goods Sector), Food & Beverages, Pharmaceutical / Medical / Healthcare / Hygiene, Professional Services, RetailSpecificationFinancial Controls:Take responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of the accounting and control information held in and reported from the Organisation’s accounting systemSupport the CFO in developing and delivering the Organisation’s financial and business strategyContinuously review of financial, control and management information systems and procedures, implementing improvements across the organization in consultation with the CFOUpdate, review and document the Organisation’s financial policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirementsEnsure accuracy of financial and related information held outside the finance systems, such as HR, budgeting systems, etcImprove the systems surrounding all aspects of the Organisation’s budgets, forecast and business planningProduce the monthly management accounts and other reports as required for senior management and the BoardPrepare and analyse cash flow statements, income and expenditure accounts and balance sheet accountsAssist in the production of the draft year end accounts, supporting schedules and liaison with the auditorsEnsure all company assets are accurately accounted for and monitoredPlan projects exploring potential problems or opportunities, ensuring that resources and staff are available to execute the project. Carry out any necessary research, analyse it and conclude on that informationSupport and advise staff on contractual and other ongoing arrangements with suppliersFinance Administration:Ensure the monthly reconciliation of all ledgers and sub-ledgersEnsure daily on-line reconciliation of bank accounts across the various BanksAnalyse weekly business performance/results on an outlet by outlet basis, providing feedback to Senior ManagementReview branch stock position comparing POS figures with financials, advice management on optimum stock levels at branch and warehouseTrack and monitor daily revenue for accuracy, verifying it against POS reports and Bank takingsSuggest and where approved, implement cost management strategiesEnsure monthly accruals are adjusted to meet demands of the businessOn a monthly basis, monitor and track debtors and creditors to ensure they are consistent with contract conditionsIn conjunction with Directors, source and identify finance providers at competitive ratesIn conjunction with IT Systems Administrator, coordinate and implement upgrades to finance systems, providing necessary information/training to direct reports.Management Responsibilities:Provide management direction and development support to the finance teamTake responsibility for the performance management of the finance teamProvide advice, support and training on financial issues to the Organisation’s staff
