The IRC leads the way from harm to home.We are recruiting to fill the position belowJob Title: Child Protection AssistantLocation: Mubi, AdamawaScope of WorkThe Child Protection Assistant will conduct and support child protection activities in the host communitiesImplement safe healing and learning spaces as well as awareness raising activities and other community based child protection activities, such as child protection committees and awareness raising activities.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Quality:Ensure the implementation of the child friendly spacesEnsure the startup, coaching and sustainability of community based child protection activities, such as child protection committeesEnsure awareness raising activities for child protectionGrant Monitoring & Reporting:Support regular field monitoring and modifications as required.Provide input for weekly and staff activity reportsCoordination & Representation:Directly communicate effectively with other child protection workers and service providers as part of conducting individual case management and CP activitiesRegularly attend case management meetings at field level if existingProgram Development:Contribute to the development of the CP program strategic direction or responding to children harmed and at risk of being harmedContribute to the development of proposal activities and the creation of tools, training and awareness raising materialsCoordinate with other IRC sectors staff (e.g. WPE, Health/Nutrition, WASH and Education) at field levelOthers:Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to IRC management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programsOther duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs
